Besides that making music together is a lot of fun. Drums and percussion are ideally suited to communicate in an out-of-the-box, accessible and most of all fun way. Learning playing percussion in a relaxed way is a guarantee for a smile on everyone’s face.
Unique perussion workshops for schools.
Especially for elementary schools and high schools I developed a unique workshop which consists of a theoretically and a practical part. In the practical part the group will be instructed and challenged to play drums and percussion together. In the theoretical part I treat musical history in general and hiphop culture and the relation to society in partcilar.
If demanded I can also complement the workshop with graffiti drawing.

Percussion workshop for companies
Listening and communicating are essential part of everyday life and especially to let people work together in a successfull way. Music is also listening and communicating.
A drums/percussion workshop is an original idea to communicate out-of-the-box, thus making music. During the workshop drumsets and percussion will be be used to learn drumgrooves and latin-grooves, in order to work to a final result in a relaxed way.
The workshops are ideally suited to learn about eachother in a different and fun way and always ends in surprising results, in rhytmical as wel as social regard.
Percussion workshop for children’s party
For a fun, original and educational children’s party, workshops are ideally suited for children attending elementary school. Offcourse fun will have priority, but by letting children make music together they learn how about grooves and playing together. The workshop ends with a concert where children show what they have learned.
The workshop teacher
That’s me! Sven Bakker. In 2003 I graduated at conservatory in Alkmaar and in 2005 I started my drum school Sven Bakker. Besides workshops I give lessons at my drum school and other schools of music for more than 13 years.
I’m also a playing drummer myself, playing live gigs and doing studio recordings, playing in a wide variety from jazz to rock. You can read more about me elsewhere on this page.
Location
De workshops can be held in a clients location (school/company) or at one of my own locations. The location will be depending on the number of participants, but will be always in the region of Hoorn.

The price of a workshop is depending on the content and duration of the workshop, the number of participants and the location. Most of all it’s a matter of customization.
